        Hello, visitor!  You have found the website of Beverly Shepard.
  Right now, this site is very simple and small, but it will get bigger and fancier.  For the moment, it offers you nothing but chants, written by me, Beverly Shepard,
in the style of Taizé.  The first few to appear on this site are those which have recently been published in 
Rise Again©,
the follow-up volume to Rise Up Singing©.  
In addition, all the chants from the two CDs that have been recorded are available on this site in audio (mp3) format.

        Chanting is an art form that is older than we can know. Probably the most basic form of music, it has remained in use over many millennia and in many cultures, doubtless because, like other ancient arts such as herbal medicine, it has benefits for those who use it.  If you'd like to know more about chant and what I've learned and experienced about it, go here.
        


        Please come back again soon.  I have written over 100 chants and both the manuscript music and sound recordings for all of them are available on this site.  However, not all of them are sung.  I hope to produce sung versions of those chants that don't yet have them and add them to this site.
